PAINTING INSPIRATION:
"The Light" was the first painting I created centered on the source of light. It was the fall of 2007 and one of my dear friends was very sick in the hospital. I felt connected to the ideas of hope and healing through light. I had no idea this painting and the hope it gave me was about to set my art career in the direction of painting light. I can see now that it was divinely guided, as I believe it to be my life purpose.

PAINTING INSPIRATION CONTINUED:
Just before finishing this painting, I hid a scripture reference which was a tradition at that time. I chose John 8:12, which reads, "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Today, I understand this verse to represent the light that was not only in Jesus, but the divine light that is also within each of us. I believe he was showing us a way of being. May we all follow this light of love and peace, for true healing and transformation of ourselves and our world.
