My hope is that my art will inspire and enlighten. For me, it starts in nature. I believe there is so much to learn from nature if one takes a moment in solitude with its beauty and wisdom. There is where I feel closest to God and have come to understand who I believe we really are, or who we are called to be. This is why I paint the light.

I started my artistic journey as a young child. For as long as I remember I have had a deep yearning desire for true peace and happiness for everyone. In recent years I have become fascinated with the spiritual world and a higher awareness. While I learned Christianity growing up, it is now that I feel an understanding of the path Jesus was leading - through showing a way of being.

I have learned so much in meditation, in nature, and behind my easel listening to inspirational authors and speakers. From that time, a personal and intimate understanding of God and Light has come to fruition. And I look forward to the many great mysteries and unfoldment of teachings I need to learn on my continued journey.

While I am very drawn to the deep wisdom and spiritual teachings the Bible offers, it is through a connectedness that I've built outside of a formal religion that guides me. A calling that I have found when I go within - in deep prayer - an inner knowing. I am inspired to walk in the shoes of the many great peace keepers and spiritual thinkers who have come before me. Some of them are called Christians, others are teachers and leaders of no specific religion. But all are united by the passion to bring hope and joy and light into the world.

This is what inspires me to create and share my light-filled paintings. If each of us can find that divine spark within and follow the light of love and peace, I believe true healing and transformation of ourselves and our world can and will happen. -Ashley Dull
