The Warmth of Winter - painting in progress!

There once was a time when I couldn't have imagined sharing an unfinished work with all of you. But, as time goes by, I realize more and more that it's not so much about the destination as it is the journey. I find myself trying to live this everyday as too often it feels like life is a rush to "get there". It isn't an easy goal, but, right now is all we really have.

This living the journey, so to speak, has inspired me to start sharing more of the process of inspiration and life behind my paintings. This vulnerability will certainly help me be fully present each step of the way, and I hope this will inspire you too to not wait until something is perfect or until something makes you happy before you see it in its full beauty.

With the in-progress painting above "The Warmth of Winter", the warmth of the sunlight over the cold ground feels like it is already there, even though I have so much work left to do. Though the light may shine the brightest at the end of a finished painting, it is only because of the spirit and thoughts that go into it as it unfolds through the many layers of paint.

In this busy season, I hope you can stop and take in the present miraculous encounters that are always unfolding right before you. I hope you can feel the warmth that this precious season has to offer!
