Cupcakes & Rainbows

Greetings from my country studio 😍,

Wow, it's been a very long time since I have connected! I wish I could say that it's because I've been taking time off to reflect and hibernate, as nature seems to be calling us to do during these dark and frozen months, however, much of my time recently has been continuing to make our new house our home, and most recently has been creating in a different way - creating drawings for my kid's birthday parties!

It seems I have been breathing, seeing, and hearing all things TROLLS this last month. Growing up with themed birthday parties, it's in my genes to do the same, and I absolutely love it! My family and I recently discovered the 2016 movie Trolls, and I think we all fell in love, well at least I did! If you haven't seen it, it's a movie all about happiness. ❤️

My favorite character, Poppy, sees the good in all things, and tries to help everyone find the happiness that is already inside of them, even when they can't seem to find it themselves. My favorite line of hers is, "Hey, I know it's not all cupcakes and rainbows, but I'd rather go through life thinking that it mostly is." Ahhh, this line just gets me every time! Probably, because I think like Poppy. Putting the news aside, and while respecting all those going through any hardships right now, I mean, how can I not believe that this world is mostly cupcakes and rainbows? As I'm sitting here at my easel and looking out into the beautiful winter snowscape, the trees seem to be truly glistening from the fresh fallen snow. It's as though they are sparks of hope - for us all! It is so magical, and I see it everywhere. Just the other day my husband and I were driving at dusk and the sun was setting on the frozen lake. I startled him with my gasp, but the colors of the snow, the blues, purples, and yellows, touched my heart like no other and took me to a place of pure goodness and peace.

The happiness, peace, and magic nature seems to show me daily, is what I continually want to share with you! Now that the Trolls birthday parties are over, I have returned to my easel and just finished up a few new small paintings - for a new exhibit coming right up! "Let There Be Light" is an exhibit that will be on display at Pax Christi Church in Eden Prairie, MN. February 2-20. Please join me at an opening reception Sunday February 3rd from 10am-1pm!

However you are making it through these dark(er) and historically cold days of winter, I wholeheartedly wish for you to experience the 'cupcakes and rainbows' more often than not, on this beautiful journey we call life.

 With Love,

This is a photo of the brilliant crystals glistening      Have you ever studied the delicate design of
on the branches. Even in these frigid                       snowflakes? It's truly magical. Although my
temperatures I still get lost in the awe of it all!         fingers felt like they were going to fall off because
of the cold, I had to embrace the moment!
